Aultmans Run Watershed AMD Assessment & Implementation Plan Update - June 2021

This assessment builds upon the original assessment completed in 2016 and includes a full year of sampling of the high priority discharges in the watershed. This project was funded by the PA DEP Growing Greener Program. Based on the newly collected data, conceptual designs were revised or created for the discharges. This report provided the necessary data to complete the upcoming SGL332 AMLER project, which involves treating the second worst discharge in the watershed. Thank you to our partners including Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Kiski-Conemaugh Stream Time for assisting with this project. Aultmans Run Watershed AMD Assessment & Implementation Plan - March 2016

This assessment was funded by the Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds. The scope of the project was revised due to a change in funding. Rather than collecting new water samples, the project included evaluating existing data available through the PA DEP SIS database and mining permits within the watershed. A dozen abandoned mine discharges were evaluated with conceptual designs developed for the top six priority discharges. These conceptual site plans included the sizing of various treatment components and cost estimates to construct the system. Water Quality & Riparian Health Watershed Assessment for the Aultmans Run Watershed

This assessment was one of the first projects completed by AWARE as a watershed group. This assessment was funded by the Growing Greener program and involved the characterization of AMD. The condition of the streams were also assessed utilizing the USDA's Stream Visual Assessment Protocol.
